wanna sor-BET?

it has been soooooo hot and humid lately! complete madness, with the sticky, and the sweaty, and the eeeew, gross! so to beat the heat at a recent barbeque, i made pomegranate sorbet. i bought 8 pomegranates, and spent 2 hours seeding them. to my unhappy surprise, i ended up with only 3 and 1/4 cups of juice, rather than the 6 cups i needed. while it was a joy to end up with a newly splatter-patterned tank top (the stains didn't wash out), i didn't have time to seed 6 more fruit. so i decided to be a pumpkin eater (cheater) and just bought pom juice for the rest. i'm gonna go ahead and say it...you could totally use all purchased pom juice to make the sorbet (its faster and cheaper than buying the fruit). but then you won't end up with the skins that you can freeze for bowls...and extra seeds to top it off. and isn't a measly two hours worth the cuteness?

sor-bet you had to take that shot super fast before it started melting :) looks fab and i love how often you use the ice cream maker maker booty shaker. how coinkidental that you should be pomegranating, just saw this the other week http://www.elise.com/recipes/archives/004100how_to_cut_and_deseed_a_pomegranate.php

funneh about the pom tips. my ice cream book actually suggested cutting into quarters for easier de-seeding, but then (again), you can't use the skin as a bowl...so i might as well just buy pom juice. btw, pom makes this awesome pom-tea: pom-peach green tea and pom-lychee black tea...yummers...but so takai! it does come in a cute glass, though. :p
