who wears short shorts?

This is Dexter. He's a little square. That's where his name came from (poinDEXTER). He's made out of cheapie yarn (go red heart!), but is very comfy to cuddle up with on the couch. He's quickly become my favorite buddy to veg out with in front of the tellie. Here he is, hiding amongst his big brothers...can you find him? Okay, so he's not as sophisticated as his grown-up couch pillow brothers, but he likes to think he fits in fine. Dexter's shorts are a bit short; luckily he's got chicken legs that he's proud to show off. Thank you to my pal, S, for lending me the jess hutch book! I'll try and hurry to make a couple more little friends...then you can bring your little friends over and we can have a parade!

rip it...rip it good!

unfortunate, but here it is before me. my big sack sweater that didn't turn out to be big enough. the finished measurements in the instructions seemed like it would be big and baggy for me (perfect for feeling lazy and bundling up in), but when i finished, it was short and slim. :( boo. so here i am with my first frogged project...a big pile of curly yarn. yuck. this pile isn't even the whole sweater...i got tired of pulling and winding around my feet (to re-hank), so what you're looking at is the neck, the arms, and half the back. i'm pretty bitter at how long it took to knit (and also how long its taking to frog), but i guess i had fun while i was knitting it...so i'm not completely put off. at some point i'll be re-inspired: i'll try to straighten the yarn and i will knit this crazy sweater again. tomorrow is another day! luckily, i have more yarn to make the project a couple sizes bigger...cause obviously i'm bigger than my knitting book said i am.
